This season has been extremely successful for West. They are a well drilled unit that sticks to their game plan with determination. Angela Sheahen has been the main target with her ability to capitalise on her team’s hard work and her goal scoring ability. She will be a player Queechy need to contain. West have many talented players with consistently high standard performances from Samantha Lawrence, Amee Freeman and Sarah Gray up front. Wests defence is strong and determined, lead by goal keeper Stacey Lyons, Anna Crawford and midfielder Isabelle Sharman.
Queechy are playing their best hockey at the right end of the season. Coach Debbie West’s return to the playing field has had a significant impact on team success. Queechy’s utilises their player’s speed and experience and they have developed some talented junior players. The team will be keen to have sisters Josie and Emma Kremerskothen, Hayley Vimpany and Jessica Curtis at their best this weekend. Nic Duffy, Sarah McRobbie and Mikaela Clarke will be expected to lead their team by example through courage, grit and the dogged style of play they are known for.
