Kerrison, who competes in the highly-competitive junior max class, claimed a sixth place finish in the 20-lap final, against 29 of Australia's finest junior drivers.
Kerrison qualified poorly on Saturday with a 19th place meaning he would start out of grid 19 for the heats.
A first lap crash in heat 2 meant that the Launceston teenager would also start the pre-final further back than hoped.
However, Kerrison drove a superb pre-final where he showed true class to finish ninth.
In the final he was also able to move forward claiming sixth place by the chequered flag.
The pro tour moves on to Dubbo for the final round in late September.
Launceston Kart Club promotions officer Stuart Lee said the club is proud of Kerrison who sits 16th in the pro tour standings after six rounds.
