Same-sex marriage
I HAVE just finished watching ABC Lateline with Justice Michael Kirby. I am in favour of a plebiscite on same-sex marriage I have always thought that Australians should vote on this , as the" politics of popularity to keep my job " come into play on issues such as this.

Justice Kirby suggested there are some good Australians hat would vote for this. Did he mean anybody, that believes in marriage between a man and a woman is only for bad people or what? His thoughts and wishes leave me cold. If all Australia is allowed to vote on this society changing issue it will be passed.
But by blocking the vote on this issue will cause much division. I for one would sooner have all Australians have a say instead of radical politicians that want to keep their jobs.

Launceston’s Liveability
THANK YOU to all the investors undertaking multimillion-dollar projects to make Launceston a more liveable city and region. With all these projects on the cards I appeal to all government levels to fix the stormwater and sewerage issue to actually make the city liveable.
The cost of the upgrade is only going to increase the longer it is delayed. The project will create jobs (let’s make it for local contractors only) and will stimulate the economy with the new jobs.

Lucky Country
EVERYONE deserves a hand up. Everyone should have equal opportunity in life. Does the Australian government realise that although it may like to appear to be seen as the lucky country.
Has it ever stopped to think that it must be a little daunting for those fleeing war and persecution to arrive in Australia and be greeted by terminally ill homeless Australians dying on the streets? What once shone as their beacon of hope is suddenly dimmed by an illusion of survival. For the sake of future immigrants and Australians alike, the Australian government needs to get a grip on the meaning of the word lucky.
