The City Mission will open its doors to a new crowd of diners on Wednesday night with internationally trained chef John T Bailey offering a three-course meal.

Eighty people are expected to attend the Launceston charity’s first Pay It Forward dinner at its Franklin Street day centre Morton’s Place.
Guests will be asked to pay what they wish for the meal, which will be made from produce donated by Northern organisations. All money raised will go towards providing breakfasts and lunches to people in need.
Cataract on Paterson will staff the event as a community service.
City Mission business and strategy manager John Clements said it was hoped Wednesday’s event would be the first of many.
“Morton’s place is not just a place where our clients come and eat – it’s a place they feel safe and supported,” he said.
“What we’re doing is exposing the diners to this environment and demystify it a bit.”
The organisation hopes to raise up to $10,000, which would provide 2000 meals.
