A group of friends, who go by the name Henry’s Fan Club, decided to bake muffins, scones, egg and bacon pies, and coconut chews to raise money for the Launceston RSPCA.
The fundraiser was inspired by the incredible support and healthcare Henry, a miniature horse, received in June after a devastating dog attack left him fighting for his life.
As soon as the women began setting up their display they had customers lining up to purchase some freshly baked treats, Henry’s owner Christine Shepherd said.
“We were getting ready and everyone came from everywhere. We have raised over $600, it has just been amazing. I would like to thank the wonderful ladies for their amazing work,” she said.
The hospital staff were great supporters of the event, donating secondhand blankets and purchasing some of the tasty treats on offer.
The attack left Henry without a bottom lip.
