Meanwhile, young Scottish international Ryan Burnett will be looking to add to his under-25 world championship gold medal from last year.
The field sees a strong mix of Tasmanian players keen to prove they can match it with best.
Ex-Australian players Mark Strochnetter and defending champion Lee Schraner will be joined by North-West ace Mark Nitz and Anthony Burne.
Other players who have recently reached state singles finals include David Genford, Sam Springer, Will Springer and Lachie Sims while Chris Dudman, Robert McMullen, Aaron Page and Michael Sims are state champions in the fours.
