Emergency services were called to the scene just before 6.30am to find the driver safely out of the vehicle. The man was assessed by Ambulance Tasmania and taken to the North West Regional Hospital before he was released later in the day.
The roll forced the closure of the road while safety assessments were completed. Personnel from the gas company attended the scene to assist in the assessment and removal of the gas and the truck.
Tasmania Fire Service, Tasmania Police and transport inspectors also attended.
By Monday afternoon, the highway was open but traffic was subject to reduced speed limits.
The vehicle involved was a green Isuzu truck registered with Victorian plates.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or sited the vehicle in the morning should contact Sergeant Katrina Chivers at Burnie Police Station on 6477 7211.
