NRM North used the technology to educate families on the biodiversity of the historic river at Tamar Discovery Day at Beauty Point earlier in August.
NRM North Tamar Estuary and Esk Rivers coordinator Michael Attard said the application presented all sections of the Estuary, ranging from Launceston to Hebe Reef and Bass Strait.
“The app is a really great tool to give to children and get some connection. The way that we look at the estuary is we have to divide it into five zones,” he said.
“Once you start you start to move out a bit the population starts to reduce, and we have different influences.”
