City Park
TODAY I went to the Launceston Park to take some photographs of various leaves and flower formations in the beautiful conservatory.

I come to Tasmania regularly and and can remember on my last visit being really impressed with the way the flowers in the conservatory were displayed.
It had a sense of adventure with the pathway leading from one end to the other. There were many different leaves and flowers adding an array of contrasting textures as I wandered through.
This time when I walked in I could see straight through to the door on the other side. There was a lacking of adventure and a greatly reduced flower display island in the centre. In fact while I was setting up for a photo a couple walked through talking about the same things I'd noticed. I mentioned to them that I agreed as well.
I don't know much about plants and flowers, but from a photography point of view it wasn't as interesting and creative as last time. Since my last visit it is obvious there needs to be more work done to bring the Launceston park up to the creative and attractive standard it was.
I thought by giving you this feedback it would help the council as they plan into the future.

Theory of Evolution
THE theory of evolution predicts that in the fossil record there should be present millions of fossils of intermediate links.
Charles Darwin acknowledged this. Yet after more than 150 years of intense searching for these missing links since Darwin published his “Origin of Species”, not a single undisputed example has been found.
In science, the validity of a theory is judged by the accuracy of its predictions. If its predictions prove to be true, the theory is validated but if the predictions prove to be wrong, the theory is discredited.
On this basis the theory of evolution has been discredited. Yet many scientists and our school curriculums proclaim evolution as a scientific fact. This is disingenuous and dishonest.
When will our scientists and textbooks own up to the fact that the theory of evolution contains major scientific flaws and makes seriously wrong predictions and when will our schools and universities allow the alternative explanation for origins, which better fits the observations and the fossil records, to be presented.

Plebiscite
FORMER High Court justice Michael Kirby has shown a lack of judgement in relation to his comments on the proposed national plebiscite to change the definition of marriage.
He states that 'Any time there is something controversial that's difficult for parliamentarians to address they'll send it out to a plebiscite' indicating it as a 'poor precedent' .
To Justice Kirby and those opposing a people vote on the very important issue of redefining marriage, may I say, it is the right thing for the government to allow a public vote on controversial issues, even if it is for the benefit of people like myself (who differ in opinion) being able to accept the majority decision and not that of a small number of parliamentarians.

GST Revenue
OTHER states claiming Tasmania gets too much of the GST revenue, “what a joke”. What about the billions of federal money spent in these states on defence, military bases and training.
Air force and naval bases including service facilities, the list goes on. We do not even have a highway that requires constant maintenance. If one was rude one could assimilate them like the mouth of a newly born bird in a nest, always open and greedy.
