Gallery owner and manager Meredith Ireland said people are always looking for fun ways to learn new skills, so she decided to run a knitting workshop.
“A year ago I decided to run a weaving workshop in Launceston and it sold out, so I realised this was something people were interested in,” she said.
Knitting 101 will celebrate Tasmania’s high quality products by incorporating locally sourced Merino wool.
“Town House Gallery is a hub for Tasmanian made...using Tasmanian Merino married into this idea and helps promote small business,” Ms Ireland said.
“It becomes more of a collaborative process which is really beautiful.”
Tickets are available from www.townhousegallery.com.au or in store at 36 Brisbane Street, Launceston.
Class begins at 2pm, spaces are limited as Ms Ireland wanted to keep the workshop intimate.
Pre-purchasing tickets is recommended.
