Last year, TasNetworks employees were given Christmas cards inviting them to plant a tree for Greening Australia’s Midlands Restoration Program.
On Friday last week, TasNetworks staff helped plant more than 1200 native trees in Ross.
Greening Australia’s Tasmanian conservation director Sebastian Burgess said encouraging participation from a broad cross-section of the community was crucial to the program’s success.
“TasNetworks has recognised the broad support for the Midlands Restoration Program that’s reconnecting remnant habitats, and the company has found a really unique way to get involved and engage their employees in the program,” Mr Burgess said.
