Much of Tuesday was dedicated to the issue with the government forced to defend its economic development initiatives amid the disappearance of 5200 jobs from the state over the past 10 months.
The government had previously aimed to create 8000 new jobs over 2015-16.
News that TasWater will fund a $1.5 billion capital works program itself, after receiving no federal or state government financial support, is also set to be raised in Parliament.
The government either today or tomorrow will introduce legislation to increase the first home builders grant to $20,000 as it promised to do in this year’s budget.
