The $20 million hotel, which is expected to offically open in December 2017, is being developed by Launceston businessman Errol Stewart.
On Tuesday, August 23, the foundation will be laid for a 48 metre tower crane which will allow access to the entire site with its 60 metre boom.
The crane is due for completion in early September.
Meanwhile 600 cubic metres of concrete, weighing about 1,500 tonne, will be delivered on Thursday, August 25.
The concrete, plus an additional 55 tonne of steel reinforcing, will lay the footing for hotel’s the northern tower.
The hotel will be seven storeys high with up to 108 rooms and is expected to include an ancillary gym, cafe, bar and restaurant, meeting rooms, deck, Tamar River boating access and more than 90 car park spaces.
