Tasmania Police is working with the Education Department as it reviews allegations two Tasmanian schools are caught up in an online pornography ring.

Claremont College and Montrose Bay High School are among as many as 70 Australian schools listed on the site, which exchanges sexually explicit pictures of schoolgirls and women.
In a statement, Tasmania Police said it was an offence under the Criminal Code to produce, distribute and possess child exploitation material.
“The legislation also applies to young people, who are reminded that the distribution of sexually explicit material depicting young people could lead to criminal charges,” a police spokeswoman said.
Education Minister Jeremy Rockliff said the allegations were “incredibly serious”.
“We take such incidents extremely seriously. We’re ensuring we’re providing the appropriate support for those individuals affected and their families,” Mr Rockliff said.
“Investigations are taking effect and the Education Department and the police are working on this most serious matter.”
