Held at the Tidal Water Resort over two days, the conference heard from a number of speakers including well-known Tasmanian author Garry Richardson and newly-sworn in Resources Minister Guy Barnett.
Mr Barnett used the conference to throw his full support behind the mining industry.
“Like agriculture and forestry, mining is one of Tasmania’s traditional, productive industries; it’s in our blood,” Mr Barnett said.
“As a government, we understand the importance of the industry to Tasmania now and firmly believe it has a bright future in our state.”
