The Dinner Belle owner Georgie Galloway said the restaurant will be open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday to Saturday, and also for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays.
“Breakfasts will be potato hash style in the American style, but including some more Australianised things like a sweet potato hash with avocado, halloumi and mushrooms, and we’re doing waffles, both sweet and savoury,” she said.
“Through lunch we’ve got burgers, and we do ribs, fried chicken, and some beautiful donut desserts like lemon meringue donuts, pecan pie and maple donuts.
“We’re taking that southern style of food and putting our own spin on it.”
Mrs Galloway said she has always loved to cook, and after hearing her brother and husband rave about American ribs she was determined to make them at home.
After several years of experimenting with now head chef Alyse White and front of house manager Kelly Holmes, a large repertoire of classics had been mastered and they took the next step to share their passion and food with the public.
“We’d get together and cook and eat, and talk about eating, and it was kind of a natural progression to say this was yummy and we should share it,” she said.
The decor has also been designed to make people feel comfortable.
“We want people to walk in and feel like they could sit here for awhile, and it’s like they’re just going to a friends house,” Mrs Galloway said.
“We all have a hospitality background and we love that relationship that you can build up with people that come in again and again, you want them to feel like they can really enjoy the space they are in.”
The Dinner Belle is located at 23 Quadrant Mall, Launceston.
