The 17-year-old Launceston College student was one of the Blues best in last week’s victory over the Tigers. Hinds debuted in seniors against Glenorchy in round 4 of State League last year and has notched up about 20 matches for the Blues.
“I’ve always been a forward but I’ve had more opportunity in the midfield this year,” Hinds said. “I’ve really enjoyed playing State League this year and pushing myself at the highest level to see how far I can get and to learn by playing against the better players.”
The former Tamar Cats junior has been part of state academy teams including the Tassie Mariners program this season. “It was a difficult year and we didn’t win a game but it was very beneficial for all the young boys involved and I really enjoyed it under Mathew Armstrong and Adam Sanders,” he said. “Ultimately I’d like to get drafted but if that doesn’t happen I want to just play at the highest level I can.”
