“I am looking forward to the week ahead and seeing how our players handle the challenges that nationals brings,” Sargent said.
“We have an exciting team with a lot of height and experience across the players.
“The majority of players are based in the south of the state and are joined by some exciting potential from the north of the state.”
Launceston pair Courtney Treloar and Montana Viney will be joined by Devonport’s Hayley McDougall and Amy Duke from St Helens.
Treloar, Viney and Duke have kept to an elite program through the Cavaliers state league club while McDougall has trained with Devon and based at the Centre of Excellence program in Devonport.
“All four players have been training hard regionally midweek to compliment our weekly team training sessions, tapping in to high performance programs in their areas,” Sargent said.
In a squad filled with Hobart talent, Sargent said both Launceston girls have stood out with great potential.
Treloar is expected to have a real impact at the championships held in Adelaide.
“Courtney returns for her second year in the team, building on her performance from last year,” Sargent said.
“She is more physically and mentally apt for the championships.”
Centre Viney’s only pressure will be set on defence. “She is the youngest in the team, but is set to impress despite her age,” Sargent said.
