But Saturday’s game is set to be a special occasion as the Hawks celebrate their 15th year playing in Tasmania.
The City of Launceston partnered with the Hawks to create an afternoon of jam-packed entertainment, kicking off at 1.20pm.
Winner of the third season of The X Factor Australia in 2011, Reece Mastin would take to the field to perform three pre-game songs.
After winning Mastin signed with Sony Music Australia and debuted with single Good Night, which reached number one in Australia and New Zealand.
Mastin would perform another song at half-time.
Fans would be treated to an exciting display of pre-game fireworks kicking off about 1.50pm.
To signify the 15 year relationship, a giant number 15 guernsey would be unveiled after the firework display.
Hawthorn Football Club President Richard Garvey was thrilled with how the celebration was panning out.
“Tasmanians have embraced the Hawthorn Football Club as their own and we are incredibly proud of the longevity of our partnership,” Mr Garvey said.
“I look forward to seeing the celebration unfold with our open training session on Friday, our pre-game entertainment on Saturday, and of course, the main event that will follow; our clash with the Blues.”
Ticket sales were moving quickly, Aurora Stadium manager Robert Groenewegen said.
“General admission sales are going really well but they are still available,” Mr Groenewegen said.
“We are not sold out but we are on the way,” he said.
Anyone who planned to attend the game is advised to pre-purchase their tickets.
“The corporate sales are close to record numbers so everything that is available is nearly taken up," Mr Groenewegen said.
“The seat sales have been sold out for a number of weeks now.”
Mr Garvey and Hawthorn player Grant Birchall would join education minister Jeremy Rockliff at the launch of the online primary school program, Looking After Me, at Invermay Primary School on Friday.
Aimed at grade 3 to 6 students, the program was developed by HFW in conjunction with the Tasmanian Education Department.
It aimed to address issues regarding nutrition and physical activity in a way which encouraged long lasting behavioural change.
