Emily Reeve and Claudia Kargbo have each been awarded a $1000 Follow Your Dream Grant to allow them to pursue an experience that will help them form a direction for their careers and life.
Exploring social issues is something Ms Reeve is passionate about. She will use the grant to create a short film that delves into the issues she sees around her.
She hopes to engage the community in creating her film. “I’d like to collaborate with others because I think that an important part when you’re addressing any social issue is to get perspectives from many people,” said Ms Reeve.
Ms Kargbo will use the grant to attend a youth leadership conference in Sydney later this year. She said she hopes the conference will give her the skills to take on a leadership role in her community.
She hopes to work with people from all walks of life and the three day leadership forum will show her the multitude of ways she can contribute to the community as a leader. “I just want to see what I can do and the leadership conference will help me a lot,” said Ms Kargbo.
The grant was awarded through an initiative funded by the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal.
