Woolworths Ltd has confirmed its first Dan Murphy’s store in Tasmania is one step closer to opening with builders arriving at the Launceston site on Monday.

The $750,000 development at the former Officeworks building on Bathurst Street is expected to create 25 new jobs on opening.
The store will operate seven-days-a-week, and will stock more than 3500 alcoholic products, including spirits, beers, wines and other liquor.
A spokesperson for Woolworths Ltd said an opening date could not be confirmed.
“We are very excited building has commenced at the Dan Murphy’s store in Launceston,” the spokesperson said.
“We hope to be able to provide an opening date shortly.”
