If he really believes that, Mr Hodgman should remove his Health Minister Michael Ferguson.
If Mr Ferguson stays and more staff leaves, we will have the greatest catastrophe Tasmania has ever seen.
In fact, if it wasn't for the excellent staff we still have in our hospitals at the moment, who knows what sort of a terrible mess our health system would be in?
Mick Leppard, Invermay.
Pet greyhounds
WHEN I began working at a veterinary clinic almost 30 years ago, it was part of the vet’s professional duty to euthanase perfectly healthy greyhounds.
It was a distressful yet common occurrence. It seemed there was no such thing as a pet greyhound.
Once the animal’s running days were over, so was its life.
Fortunately it hasn’t happened at that practice for over 10 years, but it does still happen.
Greyhounds are beautiful dogs, however keeping them as pets has only recently been acknowledged.
Val Clarke, Kings Meadows.
Water alert concerns
IN response to Toli Papadopoulos's article on the Water Alert Concerns (The Examiner, July 18), TasWater’s position of investing in tests to ensure water is drinkable by early next year is absolutely a disgrace and an embarrassment to our nation.
The year is 2016, we are a state of our great (First World) nation of Australia and we are seeing areas of water contamination and delays like this, it's deplorable.
One can only imagine the embarrassment of tour operators when explaining how you can not drink the water in these places.
Come on TasWater, time to wake up from your slumber and see we are not still in the 1940s anymore.
