Little Athletics Tasmania president Rhonda O’Sign said the teams are enjoying some relaxing days before they return to Tasmania on Thursday.
“This is truly an amazing experience for our athletes,” she said.
“The friendship of the hundreds of student ambassadors and the competing athletes is simply amazing.
“All athletes did an amazing job, competing on most days in temperatures reaching 42 degrees on the track. Despite this, the majority achieved personal best results, taking the heat in their stride and putting in 100 per cent at all times. All athletes should be proud of their achievements.”
Launceston and Hobart brought home three medals between them - bronze for Arabella Phillips (Launceston) in the 400 metres with a time of 59.84, silver to Torin Jones (Hobart) with 4.20.50 in the 1500m and gold for Jagga Pybus (Hobart) with 6.49m in the long jump.
