SELF-described professional volunteer Les McSweeney joined his wife at a Launceston polling booth on Saturday to hand out how-to-vote cards for the Liberals.

The party makes sense to the retired Launceston man, but he said the important thing was letting people know they had options.
“We’ve been doing it for 40 years and we haven’t always lived in Tasmania but we figured the party worth supporting would have the best offer,” Mr McSweeney said.
Launceston woman Jess Hoyle said the Liberals wouldn’t be getting her vote.
Global warming, energy and health topped her list of priorities.
“I’ve been blocked by Andrew Nikolic and I voted for him last time,” she said.
Labor volunteer Simon Ward wasn’t new to handing out flyers to voters and has long given his time to the party.
His dedication to the cause saw him outside Pilgrim Hall at 5am putting up signs.
“I think there’s a division in society at the moment between the rich and the poor, especially with tertiary education,” Mr Ward said.
