A Public Iftar will be held on Saturday at the Launceston General Hospital, allowing members of the public to join in a breaking fast.
Iftar is part of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and is the evening meal when Muslims’ Ramadan fast comes to a close.
President of the Launceston Muslim Student Association Rabiul Islam said a short video would be played about Ramadan activities and how to pray, and the Association would answer any questions surrounding the Muslim faith.
“We want to let people know what we do, and how we do, and who we are, we just want to integrate with other communities,” he said.
