The $7 million overhaul of the Tenison Woods and Guilford Arts centres included open and flexible spaces for the school’s 350 middle school students.
Head of middle school Penny Ludicke said the centre had been open for one term already and students were enjoying the new and modern space.
“We wanted to create some spaces that were cosy, comfy and welcoming but we also wanted to create a really helpful transition from primary school into high school,” Ms Ludicke said.
“We have 10 general learning areas which are much larger than the original classrooms, meeting rooms and we’ve redesigned our toilets to minimise bullying in those areas."
Year 7 student Blaise Wilson, 12, said he was enjoying learning in the new areas.
“It’s fantastic, I like the more open spaces and the better facilities,” Blaise said.
