“We need to allow the talented kids we have to play and get some experience and it’s exciting to have another two young fellows in Darcy Crane and Jordan Andrews playing their first TSL game at home,” Thorp said. “We are at the stage now where we need to make sure we don’t waste the last six weeks and not giving these guys a taste and there will be a few other younger guys also going to play over the coming weeks.
“Clarence is a crucially important game – it was frustrating last week to lose by a point and we’re fifth and a game ahead of Clarence who are up here this week trying to square the ledger and regardless of who we play we will be doing everything we can to win the game.” Thorp is in negotiations to extend his contract and was 90 per cent sure that he would remain at Devonport.
