Using his nan’s recipe, the 14-year-old Prospect High student was one of 12 hopefuls who went head to head in the finals.
As the winner, Mr Piper will have his dessert featured on the menu at the Country Club's Links buffet for three months.
"It's going to be weird to see people ordering my dessert," he said.
"I've had friends say they're going to go to Country Club just to try it if I won."
Country Club General Manager Jackie Hutchinson said the challenge offered students real life experience.
“We wanted to look at how we could work best with Beacon to deliver realistic pathways for students to move from formal education into the workforce,” she said.
“It was really about creatively inspiring the students to have a full understanding of what goes into the commercial, the creative and the marketing aspects of menu design.”
