The donation is particularly poignant for this year’s cohort. Student Jock Tate chose the charity in memory of his mother, who passed away from breast cancer last year.
“It’s something close to me. I’m pretty happy that we got it,” said Mr Tate of blitzing their $25,000 fundraising target.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation's Fundraising Relationships Executive, Phoebe Brasker, was blown away by the donation, the likes of which are vitally important for the 100% community funded organisation.
"If we do find a cure one day it will be because of people like the school...that donate to us," said Ms Brasker.
Breast cancer affects one in eight women, with 42 diagnosed each day.
