The Bureau of Meteorology released its seasonal climate outlook on Thursday.
The bureau is predicting Tasmania will receive both warmer days and nights for the July to September period.
It’s just Tasmania, eastern Victoria and the tropical north that have been forecast warmer days and nights – the rest of the country is bracing for cooler weather.
The median average for this period for the central North and North-West is between 12 and 14 degrees.
Across the country, rainfall totals are expected to be above average.
In Tassie, the chance of higher rainfalls grows from less likely in the West, to more likely on the East Coast.
On a monthly breakdown, July is set to bring higher than average rainfall for most of the state, once again more likely further East than West.
August should be on par with historical averages.
Historically, the median rainfall for the North-West is between 400 and 600 millimetres, and between 200 and 300 millimetres for the central North for July to September.
