The stamp collecting society holds a fundraising auction each Christmas, from which it has donated to Examiner fundraising appeals for over 15 years.
An impressive auction last year generated double the usual income from the society's annual fundraiser.
“Last year was our best ever [for fundraising], so we decided to give an extra $500 to the Winter Relief Appeal this year,” said club secretary Gordon Harrison.
The society is celebrating its 70th anniversary and has a long standing commitment to community.
“We have fun doing it, we enjoy the hobby and giving something back to the community,” said Mr Harrison.
Funds raised by The Examiner Winter Relief Appeal directly help people in crisis. All money raised will be divided between the St Vincent de Paul Society, the Launceston Benevolent Society, the Salvation Army and the Launceston City Mission.
