In a statement, Northern Midlands Council congratulated the airport on its recent $3.5 million redevelopment but again called on the airport to pay out the disputed debt.
Mayor David Downie said council had received support from Lyons candidates Eric Hutchinson and Brian Mitchell on the matter, both of whom had agreed the airport should not be treated any differently to other ratepayers.
Launceston Airport general manager Paul Hodgen maintained the airport was fully meeting its obligations.
“We are disappointed that Northern Midlands Council still fails to accept the outcome of the independent adjudication that has gone into the rates issue,” Mr Hodgen said.
“We are still, according to the Commonwealth, who are the landlords, fully compliant in terms of the ex-gratia rates that we are paying and have paid.”
Mr Hodgen said the airport was still awaiting a response as to whether signage erected across the municipality by Northern Midlands Council met its own planning regime.
