The Cavaliers took out Game 7 on Monday 93-89, after trailing the Golden State Warriors 3-1 with James playing a starring role to earn the finals MVP award.
Cleveland's Australian guard Matthew Dellavedova posed alongside his family with the Larry O'Brien NBA Championship Trophy in the celebrations following the decider.

Much of the praise on social media has been levelled at James, who took out his third Finals MVP award with a number of standout performances.

Commiserations were also on offer for Warriors talisman Stephen Curry, who led his side to a record breaking 73-9 regular season. Injured Australian centre Andrew Bogut said the final result was a bitter pill to swallow.
