The countdown to the 17-year-old’s great adventure started earlier this year when Lizzy and her family found out they had been granted the wish after she was diagnosed with a terminal illness.
The Launceston family landed in Surfers Paradise earlier this month and since then, they have made the most of their 55th floor luxury apartment.
Lizzy’s parents, Suzy and David, and brother, Matthew, have had a jam-packed schedule while on holiday, visiting the theme parks and taking a well-earned break together.
Mrs Knox said it was fantastic to see her beautiful daughter laughing, smiling and happy.
“It’s just been lovely and Lizzy is doing remarkably well,” she said.
“It’s been really nice to have this time together just for the four of us, we all feel absolutely happy and smiley all the time.”
The family returns home on Monday.
