Unbelievably, the ban on the Adler expires next month, which could open the door for these weapons to enter the country.
In light of the recent horrific shooting in Orlando, USA, the Australian government must continue to build on its tough gun control laws and further ban fast-action guns from reaching our shores.
We have the world’s strictest laws, yet let's make sure they remain foolproof by being vigilant and close any loop-holes.

LGH
HAVING had multiple admissions to LGH, often via the emergency department, I have witnessed the stress that chronic lack of resources places upon staff striving to deal efficiently with extreme situations.
At times, because no beds were available, I have been cared for on a trolley for up to four days, and although this situation is uncomfortable and far from ideal, I have always received the highest level of skill and care possible from both medical and nursing staff.
These dedicated people should be held up as examples of supreme human service in our society.
Instead, they are subjected to discompassionate service cuts, party political rhetoric and even abuse from the people they try so earnestly to help.
Is it any wonder senior doctors are leaving?
