Throughout the month of June, The Examiner will travel to a different destination each week, compiling news from the community. On Thursday, the team will host a barbecue at Scottsdale, outside Roses Newsagency at 12 King Street.
The public is invited to come and enjoy a sausage cooked by the Scottsdale Rotary Club between 11.30am and 2.30pm. Meat has been supplied from McLennan’s Butchery and bread from The Cottage Bakery. Sausages cost $1 with all proceeds donated to the Rotary Club to disperse back into the community.
Roses Newsagency will give away a $200 package to a lucky shopper who makes an in-store purchase on Thursday. The Examiner will also be giving away two $50 vouchers to readers.
The Examiner editor Simon Tennant said he was excited at taking some of his news team on the road. “I think it will be a wonderful opportunity for people to interact with our journalists and photographers face to face,” Mr Tennant said.
