Huon veteran Kerry Hore and her quadruple sculls crewmates Maddie Edmunds, Jennifer Cleary and Jess Hall reached their A-final in Lucerne, Switzerland.
However, they could not get among the medals in rainy conditions as Poland won from Germany and the Netherlands.
The race represented a timely form guide for Hore. The 34-year-old Hobart pharmacist will become the first female Australian rower to attend four Olympics in Rio and is seeking to prolong her impressive record of always making the final.
Hore was in quad scull crews which claimed a bronze medal in Athens followed by a sixth in Beijing and fourth in London.
Fellow Hobartians Meaghan Volker (women’s eight) and Georgia Nesbitt (lightweight double) were unsuccessful in qualifying but Scott Brennan’s wife Kim (nee Crow) won the single sculls.
