The federal liberal team have pledged $15,000 towards installing solar panels at City Mission Launceston if re-elected.

The funding would come from the Solar Communities Program which aims to help organisation benefit from lower electricity bills and to reduce greenhouse emissions.
Bass MP Andrew Nikolic said community owned buildings across the county will be able to install rooftop solar PV, solar hot water and battery storage systems.
“I’m delighted to be able to announce funding of $15,000 for the installation of a 10kwH solar panel system for the Launceston City Mission’s facilities in Frederick Street, [which] they estimate could save $3,500 a year on their power bill.” he said.
“The Launceston City Mission has been serving our community since 1854 and each year helps about 2,500 people with food assistance and 300 people with supported accommodation.”
