Pauline Frankcombe said it had been a number of years since her and husband Graham had hosted an event.
“We decided to have it this year because it’s been advertised as the last one ever, so whether that's the case or not I don't know, but we thought we’d have one and give the young children that we know an opportunity to see what we enjoyed,” she said.
“I think seeing the joy and delight on the faces of children, makes it special and they just love it. A little boy who was there said ‘this is the best day of the year so far’, he was just thrilled.”
A review into Tasmania’s fireworks laws was announced by the state government on June 9 last year, and a discussion paper was opened for comment in February, outlining key issues, concerns and options.

“It’s not like years ago when you could just buy crackers at the shop, there’s quite a few steps to get a permit,” Ms Frankcombe said.
