Vicary and Charles streets will become a whole lot scarier on Sunday June 5 when a collection of B-grade botanical horror films are projected onto Triabunna buildings for the Dark Mofo festival.

About 20 Triabunna District School students helped create the films, which were shot in gardens around Triabunna, as part of Tasmanian College of the Arts' Live Site Catalyst project.
Tasmanian College of the Arts lecturer Lucy Bleach said the students had "totally embraced" the Night Garden project.
“We really noticed how many people take care of their gardens in Triabunna and we thought it'd be fun to work with the school kids to make horror films of these gardens for Dark Mofo,” Ms Bleach said.
“We've been working with the school kids for the last month with different workshops which could be about making costumes, different film-making or looking through microscopes to look at some of the plants.”
The films will be shown on loop in the two streets between 5pm and 9pm, with food stalls and drink vans providing Night Garden themed local produce to contribute to a mini-festival atmosphere.
Night Garden is a collaborative effort between Tasmanian College of the Arts, University of Tasmania, Dark Mofo and Glamorgan Spring Bay Council.
