The Gathering, as it’s affectionately called, will be held at St Helens and will begin on Friday night. The gathering will be attended by about 108 women and a highlight will be the gala dinner to be held on Saturday night.
This is the 12th Gathering to be held and is held in a different location across the state each time.
Gathering chairperson Mhari Tucker said the event was a chance to get rural women together to meet new people, share stories and learn new things.
“Out theme this year is “embracing change” which we are hoping will lead to a diverse range of responses,” Ms Tucker said.
The Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Kate Warner AM will be one of the special guests for the gathering alongside guest speaker Patrice Newell.
Ms Newell is a biodynamic farmer from the Upper Hunter, NSW.
The Rural Womens’ Gathering is presented by Tasmanian Women in Agriculture (TWiA). It will be held on May 27-29 at various locations at St Helens. For more information on the event go to http://twia-gathering.com/index.html
