Infrastructure minister Rene Hidding says he has discussed the Newnham and Mowbray link intersections with the Department of State Growth. “I am awaiting expert advice on specific treatments to improve safety and reduce the risk of crashes,” he said. Mr Hidding said he would make himself available to meet with representatives of the City of Launceston in relation to the issue, and also plans to observe the operation of the intersections at peak times. The council voted to request the meeting on Monday.
