According to the police report, West Tamar police attended the crash at the junction of West Tamar Highway and Rosevears Drive, Legana, about 9.50pm on Sunday.
They say that a white ute left the road while overtaking another north-bound vehicle, narrowly avoiding a collision with a south-bound vehicle.
Police say that preliminary investigations reveal that alcohol consumption was a factor in the incident.
"It was lucky that no one was seriously injured or killed," a police spokesperson said.
Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash, especially the driver of the vehicle that was overtaken by the ute.
Anyone with information is asked to call Senior Constable Rhodes at Beaconsfield Police Station on 6383 2002.
