The city loop ride was the latest activity in the group’s Gonski funding awareness campaign, which is set to hit full speed over the coming weeks with door knocking and market appearances.
Launceston teacher and parent Alison Jales said the cause was about “getting funding to the kids who need it most”.
“If we get Gonski funding in Bass, that would equate to 140 extra teachers just in Bass,” Ms Jales said.
“That would benefit kids by providing smaller class sizes, some literacy and numeracy support, but really it's up to principals to choose how they can best use that money to help their students.
“Everybody wants the best for kids in our community, whether they've got their own children or they know children.”
