Having birthed her first litter two-and-a-half years ago, the mother-of-ten will meet up with at least four of her offspring at the Stieglitz Beach walk on Sunday.
Tigger's owner and event co-organiser Sandra Bramich said a number of Tigger’s litter had gone to homes in St Helens, meaning family catch-ups were not uncommon.
“She's a beautiful old dog, it was her one and only litter so it was late for her,” Mrs Bramich said.
“They've all gone to friends, one of my best friends has Ziggy, another has Panda, Nelson Cubitt and his family have Bran, and Kathy and Dave Gill who help out with the Million Paws Walk have Pebbles, so (Tigger) gets to see them on a regular basis."
Walkers will tread new ground at what will be St Helen’s sixth walk, with the event’s popularity in recent years warranting a change in location.
“We've done it at the Lions Park in the past so we've changed the location out to Stieglitz Beach just because there's more room and it's a really scenic walk.
“There's actually a grassy walking track that goes around beside the beach so participants can choose whether they want to walk along the beach along the sand or around the grassy track.”
This year’s event will feature entertainment and a number of food stalls including the Magic Mixer Van and the Cherry Bomb Ice Cream Cart.
Dog owners will also have the chance to see their pooch prevail in the field of discipline, in a game that will reward the most obedient sitters.
“We play a game like musical chairs but it's musical mutts on mats.
“We've also got great prizes and things and prizes that have been donated by Hill’s Science Diet but also by members of the community as well.”
The walk will kick off at 11am on Sunday May 15, with onsite registrations from 10am and parking available at the Stieglitz Beach boat ramp.
Discounted online registrations and the chance to win prizes close on Thursday May 12.
