Do you know your recyclables from your rubbish?

The Northern Tasmanian Waste Management Group has launched a new smartphone app that aims to take the guesswork out of garbage.

Recycle Coach will remind users to put their bins out for collection, and provides information on which items can be recycled, and what should be thrown out.

Launceston Mayor Albert van Zetten said rubbish and recycling collection queries were some of the most common inquiries made to the City of Launceston.

Users can set alerts, reminders, and check the schedules of different suburbs if moving house.

The app is free from the Apple Store and Google Play, and can be used in Launceston, George Town, Meander Valley and the Northern Midlands.
