Not only did the Meander Valley quartet manage to complete the 43-hour trek without a wink of sleep, but also managed to triple the required fundraising target by raising nearly $5000.
Team member Le-Anne Deckers said the walk had been exciting, long, and extremely rewarding.
“We worked as a team and we finished as a team which was pretty exceptional,” Mrs Deckers said.
“Not a lot of teams finished as a team apparently so that was a lovely surprise in itself.”
Competing as Tasmania’s sole representative, the She Devils crossed the line feeling surprisingly fresh thanks to a solid pre-event training program.
“The training here prepared us really well - they don't know what a hill is in Dandenong,” Mrs Deckers said.
“You get a bit tired but you just keep going, and then you get to the finish line and you get a bit excited, and then you really look forward to a shower and bed.”
Mrs Deckers credited the She Devils’ support group as being a major factor in the team’s success and thanked everyone who contributed to the team's fundraising tally.
