The pair dominated the rain-affected Retreat Rally in the state’s North-East last weekend.
Driving their Subaru WRX STi, the team won eight of the nine completed stages to put down a marker for the remaining three rounds of the series and send a warning to their rivals.
A David and Goliath performance by veteran Lee Peterson and co-driver Daniel Willson saw them finish a superb second in the front wheel drive Nissan Sunny GTi after giving everyone a wake-up call by winning the first stage.
Third place went to former state champion Andrew Wylie and three-time state co-driving champion Damien Grimwood who formed a formidable combination in their Subaru WRX STi.
The event was run in wet and slippery conditions and proved to be tough on cars with 10 retirements from the field of 24.
