After the heartache from a five-point loss to Northern Territory, Tasmania thrashed the Woomeras, an indigenous side containing Tasmanians Sophie Townsend, Jada Edwards and Tahlia Strong.
Coach Andrew Philpott was overjoyed with the historic 7.10 (52) to 1.2 (8) win.
“I let them know afterwards, they sang the song twice and they were dancing with everybody,” he said.
Philpott said Tasmania’s performance was its best of the championships.
Captain Ellyse Gamble kicked two goals in their third and final game amid Daria Bannister, Lizzie Stokely, Lauren Stevenson and Jolyn Collins continuing their good form all week.
“They hadn’t put it altogether for long periods,” Philpott said.
“They linked up well, they switched the play at the right times and they tried some things that they now know what to do.”
