The crash occurred about 8.30pm when a white Mazda van went through a red light on Brisbane Street and collided with a maroon Subaru Forester travelling on Margaret Street.
The Subaru then collided with a signpost on the footpath.
The 52-year-old female passenger of the Subaru had to be cut free from the car by fire services and was later taken to Launceston General Hospital with bruising.
The driver of the car, a 54-year-old Trevallyn man, was not injured.
The 30-year-old male driver of the Mazda was also taken to Launceston General Hospital with minor injuries.
Police and fire services attended the scene, which was cleared after 10pm.
Wet weather is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
